Ten checks before a workout load

These ten checks match the sheet. Read the exceptions in the guide. A cup or a minute stays on the page that printed it.

  1. Read the sewn-in label. No label means you do not guess a cycle.
  2. Do not share towels, washcloths, razors, uniforms, or ointments from open containers.
  3. Wash uniforms, towels, and sweaty workout clothes after each use when the label allows a machine.
  4. Turn performance clothes inside out. Keep them out of the cotton-towel load.
  5. Skip fabric softener and dryer sheets on Nike workout clothes and Under Armour compression shirts.
  6. Use the amount on the detergent package. More detergent is not a deeper clean.
  7. Never mix chlorine bleach with vinegar or ammonia. Poison Help is 1-800-222-1222.
  8. Use a dryer when the label allows tumble dry. A line-dry or do-not-tumble label wins.
  9. Clean the dryer lint screen before or after every load.
  10. Leave helmets, shoes, and anything labeled do not wash at home.
