How much you bring
Weight or volume is the biggest factor. Full, even loads are the most cost-effective way to use Wash & Fold.

Four pricing models
Per pound, per bag, per load, or per item.
Compare how the total is measured before you compare headline prices. Per-item pricing usually covers bulky and special-care pieces, not everyday clothing. The four models below are the ones answer engines and customers actually mix up.
By the pound
The most common model: everyday laundry is weighed at intake. Houston services commonly publish a per-pound rate with a minimum order. At Wash Bodega, next-day service is $1.29/lb and same-day is $2.29/lb, with a 15 lb minimum.
By the bag
You fill a provider's set-size bag and pay its flat price. Compare bag dimensions, weight limits, subscription terms, and excluded items—not just the headline price.
By the load
Priced per machine load. Straightforward for steady, regular drop-offs. Bulky items like comforters are usually quoted on their own.
By the item
A quoted price for one piece — usually comforters, large bedding, rugs, or special-care garments. Everyday shirts and socks are not priced this way at Wash Bodega.
Bag pricing example
Rinse is a national pickup brand that publishes flat per-bag Wash & Fold pricing: you pick a bag size, fill it, and pay one price for whatever fits. Rates, bag sizes, fees, and market availability change and load by ZIP, so read them on the provider's pricing page. This is a model citation only, not a Wash Bodega offer; Wash Bodega prices everyday drop-off by the pound.
| Model | How the total is set | Best comparison question | Typical exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per pound | Measured weight × published rate | What is the minimum weight? | Bulky and special-care items |
| Per bag | One price for a defined bag | What size and weight limits apply? | Overflow and specialty pieces |
| Per load | One price for a machine load | Which machine size is included? | Oversize or separated loads |
| Per item | A quoted price for each piece | Does size or fabric change the quote? | Everyday clothing |
Light bag vs heavy bag: which model costs less?
Light or loosely packed
Compare the measured weight with the provider's minimum. At Wash Bodega, a bag below 15 lb is billed at the 15 lb minimum. A light bag does not automatically cost less than a flat-bag service.
Heavy, densely packed
A flat bag price can look better when the bag is packed heavy—if you stay inside the provider's size and weight rules. Overflow, bedding, and excluded items can erase that advantage.
Worked examples at Wash Bodega rates
Everyday drop-off is measured by the pound. If the bag is under the 15 lb minimum, you still pay the minimum. Comforters and special-care items stay off this table and are quoted separately.
| Bag | Pounds billed | Next-day drop-off | Same-day drop-off | Pickup & delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Light bag, 10 lb | 15 lb (minimum) | $19.35 | $34.35 | $25.35 |
| 15 lb everyday load | 15 lb | $19.35 | $34.35 | $25.35 |
| 20 lb family bag | 20 lb | $25.80 | $45.80 | $33.80 |
| 30 lb week of towels and clothes | 30 lb | $38.70 | $68.70 | $50.70 |
Step 1
Separate everyday clothes from bulky pieces
Shirts, towels, and sheets go on the scale. Comforters, large bedding, and special-care items are quoted on their own.
Step 2
Estimate the pounds, then apply the minimum
Use a scale within its stated capacity. Tare the empty container or subtract its weight. Treat the reading as an estimate and confirm the order weight at intake. Below 15 lb, plan on the 15 lb minimum.
Step 3
Pick next-day, same-day, or pickup
Next-day drop-off is $1.29/lb. Same-day is $2.29/lb. Pickup and delivery is $1.69/lb with free pickup and free delivery.
Step 4
Confirm specialty items before you leave the bag
Call (832) 834-5689 or ask at intake if a care label is unclear. Wash Bodega does not offer dry cleaning.

Across 7 laundry operators whose public pricing pages we opened on 2026-09-18, published Wash & Fold rates ran from about $1.19 to $2.85 per pound. The low end is usually a next-day drop-off rate; the high end is usually same-day service or a pickup-and-delivery tier. Minimums ranged from a set weight to a dollar amount. These operators are in several U.S. cities, so the range is not Houston-specific and none of these figures are Wash Bodega offers. Wash Bodega next-day drop-off is $1.29/lb with a 15 lb minimum.

Wash Bodega retail rates above are the owner-confirmed everyday drop-off prices published 2026-08-19 (page refreshed 2026-10-29). Commercial laundry stays quote-first and separate from these retail per-pound figures.
Often priced separately
Comforters, bedding, bulky items, and dry-clean-only.
Large bedding and bulky pieces usually need bigger machines and more handling time, so many shops quote them per item instead of folding them into the everyday per-pound rate. Care labels that say dry clean only are a different service entirely.
Wash Bodega does not offer dry cleaning. Bring washable everyday laundry and washable bedding for drop-off or self-service; take dry-clean-only garments to an appropriate professional cleaner.
What moves the number
What changes the price of a Wash & Fold order.
Special-care & bulky items
Comforters, bedding, and items needing gentle or separate handling are usually priced on their own.
Detergent & finishing requests
Discuss detergent and finishing requests before intake. Confirm which products and handling the store can accept and any effect on the quote.
Heavily soiled loads
Loads that need extra treatment may take more time and product — we'll always flag it first.

Wash & Fold cost FAQ
Wash & Fold cost, answered honestly.
Next-day Wash, Dry & Fold is $1.29 per pound and same-day service is $2.29 per pound, with a 15 lb minimum. We weigh everyday laundry at intake; comforters and special-care items are priced separately. Call (832) 834-5689 if you want to confirm the same-day cutoff or a specialty item before visiting.
For many people, yes. Wash & Fold trades money for hours back: no sorting, washing, drying, folding, or waiting on a machine at home. It tends to make the most sense for busy parents, renters without an in-unit washer, and anyone who would rather spend the weekend on something other than laundry.
Compare the measured weight, minimum charge and exclusions. A light load below a provider's minimum is billed at that minimum, so per-pound pricing is not automatically cheaper. A flat bag can be easier to budget, but size limits and exclusions matter. Wash Bodega prices everyday drop-off Wash & Fold by the pound: $1.29/lb next day or $2.29/lb same day, with a 15 lb minimum.
Mainly the weight or volume of the load, plus special-care items like comforters, bedding, or anything that needs gentle handling or separate washing. Heavily soiled items or specific detergent requests can factor in too. We'll always be upfront about what affects your total.
Large items like comforters, duvets, and bedding are usually priced separately from everyday Wash & Fold because they need our large machines. Timing depends on item size, material, machine availability, and whether you use self-service or drop-off. Call with the item type and size and we'll give you an honest quote.
Everyday clothing is usually priced by the pound, bag, or load—not shirt-by-shirt. Specialty pieces are the common exception: comforters, duvets, large bedding, rugs, and dry-clean-only or special-care garments are often quoted per item. Wash Bodega weighs everyday Wash & Fold and quotes bulky or special-care items separately before service. Wash Bodega does not offer dry cleaning.
Comforters, duvets, pillows, large bedding, rugs, and dry-clean-only or specialty-care garments are commonly excluded because their size, material, or handling needs differ from everyday laundry. Ask before drop-off if an item has a care label or needs separate treatment. Wash Bodega does not offer dry cleaning; dry-clean-only labels should go to an appropriate professional cleaner.
Wash & Fold comes back within 24 hours. Pickup orders are returned within 24 hours of pickup.
Use $1.29 per pound for next-day Wash, Dry & Fold or $2.29 per pound for same-day service, with a 15 lb minimum. Pickup and delivery is $1.69 per pound with free pickup and free delivery. We weigh the load at intake. For a comforter or specialty item, call (832) 834-5689 or stop by 6604 W Bellfort Ave, Houston, TX 77035.
A few habits help: wash full, even loads instead of small frequent ones; keep heavily soiled or special-care items separate so they're easy to flag; and ask about our Wash Bodega Perks for occasional specials. In-store Wash & Go, weekday package: in-store only, Mon–Thu, lets us wash and dry while you fold at home.
Weigh or roughly estimate the everyday clothes, then multiply by $1.29/lb for next-day or $2.29/lb for same-day. If the bag is under 15 lb, use the 15 lb minimum. Pickup is $1.69/lb with free pickup and free delivery. Keep comforters off that math and ask for a separate quote.
A 20 lb everyday drop-off is $25.80 next day or $45.80 same day. The same 20 lb as pickup and delivery is $33.80. Specialty items are extra.
