Gym laundry: protect towels and uniforms

Wash Bodega Team. October 2026. English edition.

Identify the piece before the next load

Start with the maker and model: a Manduka Equa mat towel, an Augusta FreeStyle sublimated uniform, Möve terry, or a Manduka mat. Similar colors do not make them the same product. The six poster decisions keep wash settings, additives, snag protection, and the mat exception separate.

The Cold wash band contains two named care examples. It does not tell you to combine those products. Protect holds three different restrictions; Mats holds one maker's machine-wash boundary. The clinic, salon, and household guides do not supply a gym cycle.

These are product-care examples, not a disinfection result or a locally required towel program. Keep the actual care label with each product. An unresolved care question belongs on the private worksheet before another person takes over. That sheet is not submitted to Wash Bodega.

1. Manduka Equa: cold and like colors

Manduka's Equa Hot Yoga Mat Towel care calls for a cold machine wash with similar colors. This is a mat towel, distinct from the mat it covers. Its wash instruction does not come from the mat-cleaner section of a different page. [1]

The same product-care block allows low tumble drying or hanging to dry. It warns that darker colors may need multiple washes to remove excess dye and advises caution around light-colored mats or clothing. That warning does not promise the dye is gone after a fixed number of washes. [1]

At the handoff

Write Equa and mat towel in the maker/model field. Record the cold and color-group words beside it. The additive restrictions have their own card and section below; do not lose them when copying the wash setting.

The blank sheet is a proposed way to keep product information together. It does not establish a new care setting or ask for member names.

2. Augusta FreeStyle: cold and gentle

The Augusta FreeStyle sublimation page's care table specifies cold-water machine washing, a gentle cycle, and similar colors. Keep all three instructions with this sublimated uniform. This example does not apply to every staff shirt in a gym. [2]

The table allows low tumble drying and prefers hanging to dry. Turning the garment inside out is presented as optional and potentially helpful for garment life. The guide does not turn that option into a required step. [2]

Keep the uniform's identity

Use the worksheet for the actual maker, model, and label. If the shirt is another product, obtain that shirt's care. A commercial service listing for Staff shirts is an item category, not a manufacturer care instruction. [7]

The next card keeps the bleach restriction explicit. A correct cold setting does not cancel a separate prohibited additive. The same table also excludes fabric softeners, ironing, dry cleaning, damp storage, and washing or drying with hook-and-loop fasteners, zippers, or rough surfaces. [2]

3. Augusta FreeStyle: no bleach

The FreeStyle care table says not to use bleach. It does not give a non-chlorine exception or limit the warning to a particular garment color. The Spanish word blanqueador preserves that full scope. [2]

Keep this restriction with the uniform even when the wash group has already been identified. The poster gives it a separate card so a cold/gentle note cannot crowd it out.

A useful worksheet entry

Write the restriction in the additive field beside the garment identity. This is a Wash Bodega organizational prompt. It does not add a different chemical, dose, or stain-removal recipe.

Do not carry the example onto an unrelated shirt merely because both are staff clothing. The guide has no Gildan care instruction and no universal bleach permission for white member towels. The product named on this card remains Augusta FreeStyle sublimated uniform.

4. Möve terry: hooks and zips apart

Möve's terry care says never to wash it with items that have hooks or zips, because they can pull loops. The poster's separation decision is physical snag protection. It is not an infection claim about towels and uniforms sharing a machine. [3]

The same page separates darks, lights, and colors. It asks for very sparing fabric softener if used, noting effects on absorbency and lint. That instruction does not replace Equa's different additive restriction. [3]

At the sorting point

Identify which pieces have hardware and which terry product is present. Put the unresolved separation question on the worksheet rather than assigning every towel the same care because it has loops.

Möve's page does not supply a numerical wash temperature in the cited care text. This guide therefore does not add a degree to its card. The maker's recommended temperature still belongs with the actual product information. [3]

5. Equa: keep the additive list complete

Equa's care advises avoiding bleach, dryer sheets, fabric softeners, and detergents containing softeners because they can reduce grip performance. All four classes stay together on the card. Detergent with softener is not silently dropped from the list. [1]

Avoid is the maker's wording for Equa. Augusta's separate Do not use bleach instruction remains a different statement for a different garment. There is no common chemical program for both examples. [1] [2]

Another towel has its own block

Manduka's Yogitoes Hot Yoga Mat Towel page calls for a separate wash before first use. Its product care also gives a cold machine wash, low tumble or hang drying, and the same four additive classes to avoid. Do not confuse that first-use instruction with a mat-cleaning instruction. [5]

The worksheet's additive field can keep those words with the actual towel. It does not identify a product as a laundry sanitizer or promise that a wash disinfects it.

6. Manduka mats: the Shala exception

Manduka's own mat-care FAQ answers the machine-wash question with Shala Yoga Rug yes and all other mats no. Here, other mats means other Manduka mats in that guide. It is not a rule for every brand sold to a gym. [4]

An Equa or Yogitoes mat towel is a separate product with its own machine-wash care. A towel that lies on a mat does not transfer its wash permission to the mat underneath. [1] [4] [5]

Check the product, then the service

Record whether the item is the Shala Yoga Rug, another Manduka mat, or a separate cover/towel. Keep the model available for the next worker instead of writing mat as the whole identity.

Wash Bodega's gym list includes mat covers when agreed. The educational Shala example is not a new promise to clean every mat. Confirm the actual item and handling through the quote before service. [7]

A towel brand is not a universal temperature

Weseta directs readers to the care label on the tag or hanger. Its care page gives different temperatures for its own terry and named ranges. The page's terry-towel setting is not printed as the temperature for every gym towel. [6]

Equa and Augusta use the word cold in their care. The poster preserves that word without inventing a numerical conversion. Möve's snag-protection instruction remains a separate decision. [1] [2] [3]

When the care words are missing

Leave a specific question for the person obtaining the product's instructions. That is a Wash Bodega handoff suggestion, not an FTC sentence about what a missing label means.

Do not average the examples into one compromise cycle. A complete product identity and its own restrictions are more useful to the next worker than a confident setting copied from another brand.

Plan the locker-room handoff

The private worksheet has six fields: product/maker/model; label and wash words; additive restriction; hardware separation question; stacked or folded return; and a mat-cover or timing question.

Complete a copy locally or print it. It is not a website form and is not submitted to Wash Bodega. No member identity, medical history, or health detail is needed to describe a textile group.

Before passing the load

  • Keep the two cold-care cards tied to their named products.
  • Preserve the separate bleach and complete Equa additive restrictions.
  • Keep Möve's hook/zip question visible.
  • Identify a Manduka mat separately from a mat towel or cover.
  • Ask for the return format and timing that the account needs. [7]

These are planning prompts. They do not certify a gym hygiene procedure or create a same-day service promise.

Optional Wash Bodega service

The existing gym service lists member towels, studio towels, staff shirts, and mat covers when agreed. Folded or bulk-stacked return is a quote choice. High-volume towels may be stacked rather than folded individually; say which result the account needs. [7]

No gym rate, weekly pound minimum, or same-day guarantee is published. A quote confirms item mix, handling, schedule, and pickup fit. The store's 24/7 customer access does not set commercial production hours. No dry cleaning, linen rental, or hospital sterilization is offered. [7]

Read the gym service page or call (832) 834-5689. Address: 6604 W Bellfort Ave, Houston, TX 77035. The poster's QR opens that service page; it does not send the worksheet or reserve a locker-room return window. [7]

What this guide does not claim

This guide does not establish a common gym cycle, towel disinfection result, required local wash frequency, or infection risk between towel and uniform loads. It supplies no mud/grass recipe or bleach exception for a product that prohibits bleach.

Augusta FreeStyle care is not all staff-shirt care. Equa is a named mat towel. The Shala exception is within Manduka's mat range. A missing care label is a question to resolve, not an FTC-attributed cycle rule.

The service scope remains the existing commercial page. Quote confirmation covers item fit, return format, handling, and timing. A 24/7 storefront is not a same-day gym production promise, and the QR does not submit this private worksheet. [7]
